At Swarra Tea, our commitment to quality and authenticity is reflected in every cup; as it is in our packaging. 

While the end-products are assembled, packaged and labelled at our office in berlin, all our raw-materials, from teas to labels, are sourced from Sri Lanka - supporting small business and local communities. The inner tea pouches, both loose teas and pyramid-bagged teas, are offered in three different types of packaging.

The Kraft Box:

This charming tea box, made from sturdy paper cardboard featuring a clear PET window, combines elegance with practicality. It provides a wallet-friendly option without sacrificing style. The sleek design and transparent window make it a beautiful yet affordable pack that showcases the tea it holds. Ideal for tea lovers who want quality and elegance on a budget.

*All raw materials including the paper cardboard are sourced from local suppliers, supporting small business. The Paper Box is 100% recyclable and selectively up-cycled - capable of holding candy or other small light-weight things temporarily.

The Silk Pouch:

The premium quality silk fabric is typically used to make traditional Sri Lankan/South Indian ‘Pattu sarees’ (silk wraparound dresses) worn by women for formal or on festive occasions. Except at Swarra, we use the same luxurious silk fabric to make our tea pouches. These strikingly beautiful pouches are reflective of Sri Lankan Tamil culture and tradition; where they are used to hold small jewellery and other similar personal things of value.

The [variously coloured] fabrics  are artfully and skilfully stitched and made by hand by a small team of experienced ladies. The silk pouches are 100% recyclable and could be up-cycled for holding jewellery or any other delicate product that deserves a luxurious 'Pattu' pouch.

The Wooden Chest:

This elegant tea mini chest combines natural beauty with functionality. Hand crafted from durable Albasia wood, it features a single compartment neatly packing and storing looseleaf or pyramid tea bags. Its sleek, minimalist design adds a touch of sophistication to any kitchen or tea corner, while its sturdy construction ensures long-lasting use. Perfect for tea enthusiasts looking to keep their collection tidy and accessible.
